Print/Web Graphic Designer

Location: 50% telecommute, 50% North York, ON
Pay: CAD$3,000 net for the project completion

Evershine Group is looking for a full-time graphic designer to work on internal and client projects. Working from your home (AWP) and our office, you will be responsible for graphic design and layout for both print and web media. The project that the candidate will primarily work on is a real-estate guide.

Responsibilities:
- Creates ads/materials according to internal/external customers’ specifications and needs (as provided) and by directory closing dates/deadline schedules.
- Conceptualizes or develops sketch components of advertisements.
- Verify accuracy of all text.
- Loads and saves elements of graphic art on computer according to established procedures.
- Prepares and scans all artwork
- Verifies quality of scan/reproduction and performs touch-ups using computer as required.
- Colour correct raster images.
- Responsible for use of type and choosing fonts.
- Verifies quality of scan/reproduction and performs touch-ups using computer as required.
- Provide design estimates for projects
- Interact with Evershine team and clients in person and via phone and email
- High level of communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Ability to proof and ensure quality of responsibilities
- Designs in-house projects (flyers, logos, local marketing material, local newsletters etc.)
- Prepares daily activity report on time spent.

Experience/Skills Required:
- At least two years real-world experience working with clients on a variety of print and web-based solutions
- Must have an understanding of print production and web design
- Magazine or catalogue layout experience an asset
- Strong working knowledge of the latest versions of Photoshop, Pagemaker, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Graphic design diploma, training in basic design fundamentals and color management
- Experience with portals, security and ecommerce solutions
- Experience with product testing preferred
- The ability and the discipline to work effectively from your home office
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
- Typing: 50 words per minute with accuracy
